| Visit the Small House Society | Model Home 200012 WelcomeBelow is a photo tour of a very simple and efficient home. This 11 x 13 foot room is an entirely self contained rental space. Restroom and laundry facilities are shared with other tenants. The rental cost is $200 per month which includes: electric, water, heat, air, trash removal, snow removal, off street parking, facility management and upkeep, and building cleaning service. Having all living services provided greatly reduces the financial surprises and time drains typically involved with normal home ownership. |

| Pictured to the right is the "bedroom" area. The clothes closet door can be seen on the right. The bed shown is a high-grade queen size Coleman air mattress, $29.72 at Wal-Mart, click here. This special mattress only needs refilling approximately every month and is very comfortable. It can be fully inflated or deflated in about 3 minutes using a special pump, $28.87 at Wal-Mart, click here, or $19.99 at K-Mart, click here. The table pictured below is a folding table that has many uses. |

Below are two photos of of the "office" area. The fabric draped from ceiling to floor has a nature pattern that contains flowers, leaves, shells, butterflies, and other images from nature, $20 from Jo-Ann, click here. This creates a warm and interesting backdrop to the office area. The desk is a folding table that is 24" deep by 48" wide, $29.99 at Staples, click here. The lamp produces a special light that is similar to natural light and much easier on the eyes. It consumes only about 13 watts, yet produces the equivalent of 75 watts of light, about $30 at Menards. The stereo shown is a miniature Sony system available at Best Buy, click here. | The kitchen area, to the right, includes a sink with a dish
strainer-counter, and additional storage space above and below. On the
left, two folding chairs can be seen. Folding chairs are light weight,
comfortable, easy to store, and inexpensive, about $10 at Wal-Mart, click
here. Food products do not require refrigeration or freezing and feature an extended shelf-life, such as EdenSoy soy milk products from Eden Foods, click here. The beige bottle on the ledge above the sink is a 1 Liter pump bottle of Aussie Mega Shampoo. [click here] This shampoo is an excellent multi-purpose cleaner for washing hands, cleaning dishes, cleaning surfaces, and in the shower for cleaning the hair and body. |
