But on Monday, the Indian army said there had been a clash in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh state last Friday, the eastern tip of India. Both sides were involved with a few soldiers suffering minor injuries. Reuters reported an Indian army source saying at least six Indian troops were injured.”

It was the first reported standoff between troops from the two Asian giants since deadly clashes in 2020 strained their already tense relations. Troops from both sides have adhered to long-standing protocols to avoid the use of firearms along the frontier, known as the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
