Topics and Issues

During 2023 Q1, in the first few months of the year, issues that seem to be evolving and likely relevant for the year ahead have been identified and researched.

A big-data collection of videos and articles are being reviewed so the highest quality content will be placed on pages by topic in the months ahead.

If you followed the topics last year, and have paid attention to the news lately, you will be familiar with the main topics of news: artificial intelligence, climate, countries in crisis, economic news, healthcare, natural disasters, tech industry trends, and war zones.

Fraud News Alerts

Many people have been impacted by the widespread increase in scams and frauds. For this reason, I created the Fraud News Alerts website with a unique alphabetical list of resources based on the most prevalent threats. It’s a short manageable list that anyone can skim over in under a minute to become informed about what to watch out for. Learn more at FraudNewsAlerts.com/resources

Iowa City Tech

The Iowa City Tech website has a growing collection of tech related resources including buying guides and problem solving instructions. These are items that would previously be posted to the Resources For Life website. Learn more at IowaCityTech.com/resources

Iowa City Web

Website design and related services are available through Iowa City Web. [Learn More]

Public Interest

You’ll notice a common theme when exploring Resources For Life and related websites like the ones mentioned above. There’s a public interest emphasis in sharing of free resources and solutions, with the paid services as a secondary offering.

Most people get the help they need without paying. There have now been over 4 million people helped so far.

The free services to those millions of people are made possible by a few hundred paying customers.

This is a business model that started decades ago under the name of Public Interest Computer Consulting. The idea is to have 100% of the outreach funded by 10% of the revenue generating efforts.
