Context
Kamala Harris was democratically elected on 3 Nov 2020 with approximately 81 million voters selecting her and President Joe Biden to lead the country.
Given Biden’s age at the time, it’s understandable that people considered her capabilities as a successor to Biden, either in 4-8 years or perhaps earlier.
Harris did well in the 2020 Democratic Primary, but graciously along with other well-liked candidates, withdrew from running seemingly to bolster Biden’s standing in the Primary.
At the Democratic Convention, there would be an opportunity for other candidates to compete against Harris. However, at present, other leaders in the party are endorsing Harris rather than running against her. There will be future opportunities for others to seek the Presidency.
